Creative Breakthroughs in 2024
This year wasn’t just about recognition—it was about growth and evolution.
New Animation Approach: One of the biggest creative shifts was transitioning The Entropy Code’s animation to a 3D cel-shaded style with a 2D finish. It’s a more labor-intensive process, but the results speak for themselves, bringing the story to life in breathtaking ways.
Character Redesigns: After much trial and error, we pushed through to create alien species that are truly unique to The Entropy Code. Every iteration brought us closer to something original, breaking free from past comparisons and carving out a distinct identity.
Dream Code’s Surprise Success: What began as a behind-the-scenes featurette took on a life of its own, earning awards and festival selections worldwide. Seeing this deeply personal project resonate so strongly has been one of the year’s most rewarding experiences.
A Special Opportunity: The Andrews Bernard Award
The Entropy Code is still in the running for the prestigious Andrews Bernard Award, sponsored by Steven Soderbergh. This award offers up to $100,000 in completion funds, as well as feedback from one of the industry’s most iconic filmmakers.
