As 2024 draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on an extraordinary year. This year has been filled with creativity, challenges, and milestones—not just for The Entropy Code and Dream Code, but for the incredible community that’s grown alongside them. Your support, whether through sharing, feedback, or simply following this journey, has made this year unforgettable.

Creative Breakthroughs in 2024

This year wasn’t just about recognition—it was about growth and evolution.

  • New Animation Approach: One of the biggest creative shifts was transitioning The Entropy Code’s animation to a 3D cel-shaded style with a 2D finish. It’s a more labor-intensive process, but the results speak for themselves, bringing the story to life in breathtaking ways.

  • Character Redesigns: After much trial and error, we pushed through to create alien species that are truly unique to The Entropy Code. Every iteration brought us closer to something original, breaking free from past comparisons and carving out a distinct identity.

  • Dream Code’s Surprise Success: What began as a behind-the-scenes featurette took on a life of its own, earning awards and festival selections worldwide. Seeing this deeply personal project resonate so strongly has been one of the year’s most rewarding experiences.

A Special Opportunity: The Andrews Bernard Award

The Entropy Code is still in the running for the prestigious Andrews Bernard Award, sponsored by Steven Soderbergh. This award offers up to $100,000 in completion funds, as well as feedback from one of the industry’s most iconic filmmakers.

This could be a game-changer for The Entropy Code, and I’m so grateful to everyone who’s supported the project through votes and reviews. If you’d like to help, you can check out the project here: Andrews Bernard Award - The Entropy Code.

A Growing Community

This year, The Entropy Code’s Facebook group saw its biggest growth yet, nearly doubling in size. The discussions, feedback, and enthusiasm from this group have been a constant source of motivation.

And let’s not forget Episode 5 of The Simulators, Your reception to its humor, sci-fi themes, and unique visuals was incredible—and it’s only the beginning of what’s to come in 2025.

Looking Ahead to 2025

The future is bright, and I can’t wait to share what’s next:

  • More Stunning Animation: Production on The Entropy Code is picking up steam, with several scenes already completed.

  • New Simulators Episodes: We’re continuing to explore sharp humor and sci-fi commentary in fresh, exciting ways.

  • Big Goals: With opportunities like the Andrews Bernard Award, 2025 could be the year The Entropy Code reaches a whole new level.

Thank You

None of this would be possible without you. Whether you’ve joined the Facebook group, shared an episode of The Simulators, or simply followed the journey, your support has been invaluable.

Here’s to a 2025 filled with even more stories, milestones, and moments that remind us why we love creating and connecting.

Happy holidays,

Narottama
